Woman suspected of growing cannabis vanishes after court no show

A woman suspected of growing cannabis has vanished after failing to turn up at court.

Police today released a photograph of the wanted woman from Halewood.

Lauren Denton is charged with cannabis cultivation and failed to attend Chester Magistrates Court.

Police have spent around nine months hunting the elusive 28-year-old.

It is believed she may now be in Widnes after the no show back in August 2020.

Today Cheshire Police urged the public to help them find Denton so she can answer the drugs charge.

A spokesperson said: " Police are asking the public to help them trace a woman who is wanted for failing to appear at court in connection with producing cannabis.

"Lauren Denton is from Halewood and is believed to be in the Widnes area."

She is described as white and around 5’3” tall with a medium build.

She has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who sees Denton or has information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call Cheshire Constabulary on 101.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
