Relationships can quickly get complicated when one person is disloyal and cheats.
A woman is being supported by people online after her husband betrayed her - and got a dog involved in the mess.
The 35-year-old wife took to Reddit to rant about her former husband, who had a year-long affair with his co-worker and then "came out as gay".
In the post, she explains that "his affair partner had a dog that he basically dumped on us several months ago" - back when she thought he was her husband's good friend.
"He said he didn't have time for it and could we please just take it 'temporarily'," she said.
"Since my husband was always 'working late' (yes, in retrospect there were so many red flags), I ended up being the primary caretaker for this dog.

"I am the one who walks it every days, feeds it, even sleeps in my bed."
Now that her husband has moved out and in with his co-worker, the male couple want the dog back and are angry with her for saying no.
"They are claiming I'm being bitter... and that the dog belongs to his affair partner," she explained.
"Except the dog has been living with me for close to six months now and I've been paying for everything during that entire time."
Her cheating husband keeps constantly texting her and demanding that she hands over the pooch.
"I know I'm mad at him, but I love this dog and honestly, the dog is the only good thing in my life right now," she finished.
She later added an update to explain that she was never given a timeline, and she paid for the puppy's vaccinations and toilet trained it.

The majority of Reddit users backed her decision to keep the dog for herself and said her trickster ex deserved it.
"Tell ex-husband that you and his new mate simply traded," one person said, whilst another wrote: "No doubt, the dog is more loyal."
"Sometimes the absolute best thing you get out of a relationship is the dog," another agreed.
Many people believed she had "earned the dog" after a heartbreaking few months and encouraged her to "get it chipped".
"I really think they brought the dog into your home to get it used to your partner because the timing is so short," someone commented.
However, one person reminded her that the dog didn't belong to her in the first place.
They said: "I understand your loss and your sadness, but none of that is really relevant. If the guy asked you to look after his dog temporarily you just have to give the dog back."
