Woman suffers 'significant' injuries after being hit by detached tail lift in Cardiff city centre

A woman was rushed to hospital with "significant" leg injuries after a collision with a pick-up truck in Cardiff city centre.

The 48-year-old woman was hit by a tail lift which had become detached from the truck in Callaghan Square on Tuesday morning between 8.45am and 8.55am.

The driver did not stop and the woman was found on the road outside the British Gas Building.

She is currently receiving treatment for her injuries and is expected to be in hospital for some time.

South Wales Police are currently appealing for any dash-cam or mobile phone footage of the collision, which happened around the same time as an unrelated incident in nearby Hansen Street which saw a man die following a stabbing.
