
A woman in her 50s has been airlifted to hospital after she was bitten by a big cat at Queensland’s Darling Downs Zoo.
Per 9News, emergency services reported to Pilton’s Darling Down Zoo at about 8.23am on Sunday after a woman had suffered a “significant arm injury”.
Per the publication, the woman is believed to be an employee and was bitten by a big cat.

The woman was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she’s reportedly in a stable condition.
Shortly after the incident, Darling Downs Zoo shared a social media post, announcing that it would be closed all day today due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

ABC News reports that a spokesperson for Workplace Health and Safety Queensland said inspectors are on the ground and making further enquiries in regards to the incident.
It has not provided any further statement at the time of writing.
