Woman suffers serious injuries after colliding with a car in Llanelli

A woman has suffered serious injuries following a collision in Llanelli.

The pedestrian collided with a car in Exchange Row, Dafen, Llanelli at 5.15pm on Tuesday, January 14.

The Dafen road was closed for an hour and a half while emergency services were at the scene and re-opened around 6.45pm.

The Welsh Ambulance Service attended the scene and took the woman, who had serious but not life-threatening injuries, to hospital.

Police are now asking any witnesses to come forward with more information.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We responded to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at Exchange Row, Dafen, Llanelli, at 5.15pm yesterday (January 14).

"The pedestrian, a woman, was taken to hospital with injuries thought to be serious but not life threatening. Ambulance also attended. The road re-opened at around 6.45pm."

Anyone with information is asked to report it to Carmarthenshire Roads Policing Unit either online , by email or by phoning 101.

Wales Online has contacted the Welsh Ambulance Service for comment. Dyfed-Powys Police did not disclose the age of the injured woman.
