A woman has suffered serious injuries after an assault in .
Police moved to cordon off the Grosvenor Casino Riverboat after reports of the incident between 8pm and 8.20pm on Wednesday, October 9.
A 39-year-old suffered serious hand and head injuries in the assault in an area under the George V Bridge in the city.
The woman was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she remains in a serious, but stable condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident as officers remain at the casino.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Inquiries are ongoing and officers are eager to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault, or who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area around 8pm last night, to contact them immediately.
"Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 3944 of 9th October, or report this to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
