Woman suffers potentially 'life changing' injuries after falling from bridge over A4174

A woman has been left with "potentially life-changing" injuries after falling from a pedestrian overbridge in Bristol.

The incident happened at 11.20am today (Tuesday, May 25) on the A4174 near Hanham in Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Police said in a statement they supported South Western Ambulance crews in responding to the incident.

Police said: "Police attended the A4174 to support ambulance crews after a woman fell from a pedestrian overbridge.

"It happened at about 11.20am (Tuesday, May 25) near to Aspects Leisure Park.

The statement continued: "The road was closed for about an hour between the Hicks Gate roundabout and Longwell Green.

"The woman was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries. Her next of kin has been taken to the hospital by police."
