Woman suffers life-changing injuries in South London stabbing

A woman has suffered life changing injuries after she was stabbed in South London yesterday afternoon (Friday, March 20).

Emergency services were called to a house on Prospect Vale, Woolwich, to reports of a knife attack shortly after 4.30pm.

The woman was treated for a single stab wound as well as a fracture and is currently in hospital recovering from the attack.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm, and he remains in custody while the investigation continues.

The man and woman are believed to be known to each other, according to the Metropolitan Police. The force added it is not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is urged to come forward.
