Woman suffers 'life-changing' injuries as three people hit by car

A woman suffered 'life-changing' injuries after three people were hit by a car.

Officers received reports of a crash involving a green Mazda and three pedestrians, with emergency services scrambled to Penketh Road in Warrington just after 4pm on Saturday, March 20.

One woman was rushed to hospital with serious and life-changing injuries, reports Cheshire Live.

Two other pedestrians, a man and woman, were taken to hospital. Their injuries are understood not to be life threatening.

It is understood an air ambulance attended the scene and landed on nearby Marina Park in Sankey Bridges.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "Officers were called to Penketh Road just after 4pm on Saturday, March 20 following reports of a collision involving a green Mazda and three pedestrians.

"One pedestrian, a woman, was taken to hospital with serious and life-changing injuries.

"The two other pedestrians, a man and woman, were taken to hospital for non life threatening injuries.

"The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries."
