Woman suffered cuts and bruises during street robbery in Nottinghamshire town

A woman suffered cuts and bruises to her and knees following a robbery in the early hours of the morning.

The victim was walking in Westfield Lane, Mansfield when a man approached her at around 3.30am on Monday assaulted her and stole her handbag.

The man has been described as a white, around 40 to 50-years-old, average build, 5foot 5in tall,and wearing a blue cotton hoodie with a zip front, and blue jeans.

Police said he was also reported to be carrying two cans of Tisci larger (a white can with red writing on).

His hood was up, but he appeared to be bald, with an eastern European accent, the force added.
