Woman stumped why boss won't give reference finds hilarious drunken voice note

A woman stumped as to why her former boss wouldn't give her a reference found a hilarious drunken voice note she had left her work WhatsApp group.

Rachael Calvert, 21, was left racking her brains what the delay with the reference from the unnamed restaurant was - until she found a voice note telling bosses "Bye f*****s, ha, bye f*****s".

The 21-year-old can then be heard cackling before the clip ends.

Rachael, from Edinburgh, took to social media to post a recording of the note - recaling her horror at discovering it after a night out.

She shared the clip with the caption: "Been emailed saying my old work won’t give me a reference for my new job and it's made me so sad.

"Then I realised this might be why."

The post, which has already clocked up almost 3,000 likes, has had fellow social media users in stitches.

@smccallum94 replied: "Hahaha OMFG."

Alexandra Lewis said: "Rachael man I can't stop laughing at this."

And Paula Hamilton added: "Omg howling."

Speaking today, a chastened Rachael, who has a new job lined up, said: "I'm disappointed in myself. But also I think it was just part of my personality. I always roast people, but it’s never in harmful intent it’s just how I make friends.

"I get along with all of the staff although I had some issues with the main manager. I suppose this was employment and not a social gathering.

"Nothing was left on bad terms though and I went back to the restaurant to have food with my boyfriend on the following Valentine's day.

"It was a bit awkward though."
