A woman stubbed out a cigarette on a schoolboy's arm for kicking a football towards her.
Jennifer Brown, 25, took the ball away - then began pushing, punching, and burning the 16-year-old boy.
A court heard Brown had become "angry" after the boy had been playing football in the street.
Prosecutor Dafydd Roberts said the teen was enjoying the game when the ball rolled away and was picked up by Brown.
He said: "She took the ball home before going back outside a short time later."
Mr Roberts said Brown confronted the youngster and "pushed him with both hands to his chest".

She then stubbed out a lit cigarette on his bicep and punched him.
Mold Crown Court heard that police were called to the dispute in Llangefni, Anglesey, and Brown was arrested.
She told officers she had become "angered" at loud music and provocation by the youngster.
Brown, of Llangefi, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Elen Owen, defending, said Brown was trying to stand up for herself when the attack happened but went too far.
She said: "She went beyond what could be considered self-defence but there were extenuating circumstances."
Ms Owen said Brown was "slight" in stature compared to the 16-year-old who she attacked.
She told the court Brown was receiving support from community mental health nurses, and said "she has her vulnerabilities".
Judge Niclas Parry said it was clear there was "a neighbour dispute" and that Brown had "clearly come to the end of her tether".
Brown was handed an eight week suspended sentence.
