NT Police say they have identified the woman's partner as a person of interest in the incident. (ABC News: Hamish Harty)

Police say they are investigating an incident in which a woman was struck and pinned by a vehicle in an Alice Springs car park this morning as a possible case of domestic violence.

Northern Territory Police reported that a 33-year-old woman was walking towards a convenience store on Gap Road about 12:27am when a vehicle, allegedly being driven by a person known to her, entered the car park she was in and hit her.

They said the vehicle pinned the woman against a parked car, before reversing and driving away.

The woman received injuries to her lower body.

She was taken to the Alice Springs Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

Police say detectives have identified a vehicle of interest, a blue sedan, and are continuing their investigations into the identity of the driver.

They say they have identified the woman's current partner as a person of interest.

NT Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppersnt.com.au.
