Woman storms Dublin shop with pair of scissors and threatens staff before stealing cash

A woman stormed a shop in Dublin city with a pair of scissors and threatened staff before making off with a sum of cash.

The shocking incident happened in the Thomas Street area of Dublin 8 on Sunday.

The woman entered the shop at around 7.15pm and threatened workers, before fleeing the scene after taking the contents of the till.

She was spotted by a garda on patrol in the area and arrested immediately after the incident.

A garda spokesman said: "She was taken to Kilmainham Garda Station where she was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

"The woman has since been charged in relation to this incident and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, Court 4, today, May 4, at approximately 10:30am."
