Woman steals over $100,000 from work

A woman from Pingelly, in Western Australia's Great Southern, has been found guilty of stealing more than $120,000 from her employer.

It was alleged Lee Nora Steel, 44, stole the money while working as the manager of a local business between 1996 and 1999.

In the District Court in Perth, Steel was found guilty on all 39 charges of stealing as a servant.

She will be sentenced on June 25.

Editor's note January 12, 2018: This conviction was quashed on appeal and a retrial ordered. The matter was eventually discontinued on January 26, 2006 with all charges against Ms Steel dismissed
