Woman stabbed in broad daylight - another woman has been arrested

A woman was stabbed in broad daylight in Middleton.

Emergency services, including police officers and paramedics, were called to the scene in the Langley area yesterday afternoon (Tuesday). The stabbing was first reported at around 3pm, police said.

A woman attacked another woman on Bowness Road. The suspect - aged in her 30s - was arrested on suspicion of section 20 assault.

She remains in custody to be quizzed by officers. It has not yet been confirmed how serious the woman's injuries were.

The Manchester Evening News has contacted the North West Ambulance Service for details. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to a report of an stabbing on Bowness Road, Middleton at around 3pm yesterday afternoon (19/07/2022). One woman in her 30s has been arrested on suspicion Section 20 assault and remains in custody.
