A 15-year-old boy has been charged with stabbing a woman five times while she was trying to walk from a Perth train station on Saturday night.
The boy is thought to have been trying to rob the woman when he allegedly attacked.
Police say at about 9.20pm on Saturday the 27-year-old woman was walking from Claisebrook train station, in East Perth, when she was approached.
Police said she had property stolen and was stabbed five times during the incident.
She was taken to Royal Perth Hospital, where last night she was in a serious but stable condition.
The heavily armed Tactical Response Group, who usually respond to serious incidents involving guns and threats to life, were called to the scene.
They last night combed the streets of the mixed residential and business district.
A boy on a bicycle was arrested shortly after the incident on a nearby street.
The boy will appear in the Perth Children's Court tomorrow.
