Woman stabbed at house in Crumpsall 'making progress' in recovery battle

A woman who was stabbed at a house in Crumpsall is no longer fighting for life after making progress in her recovery.

Police were called by the ambulance service to Saxelby Drive shortly after 1pm on Monday, January 27.

The air ambulance also landed on a nearby playing field.

A woman, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital with stab wounds.

Police initially believed she was in a life-threatening condition.

An air ambulance was called to the scene (ASP)

However officers said she has since made progress and is no longer fighting for life.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in custody for questioning.

GMP detectives continue to question a 31-year-old man (ASP)

A spokesman for GMP said: "Police were called by the ambulance service shortly after 1.10pm on Monday, January 27, 2020 to a property on Saxelby Drive, Manchester.

"Emergency services attended and a woman in her 30s was taken to hospital with what were initially believed to be life-threatening stab wounds.


"The woman has since made progress and is no longer believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

"She remains in hospital.

"A man aged 31 was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody for questioning.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
