Woman stabbed after thug raided her home was heard screaming in terror - before being found 'covered in blood'

Neighbours of a woman stabbed by a thug who raided her Bury home have described the horrifying moment she was heard screaming in terror.

The victim, understood to be in her 30s, was left with injured hands after being knifed.

A man in his 20s was stabbed in the stomach when he rushed downstairs to help.

The pair were in their home on Haworth Walk in Radcliffe on Tuesday afternoon when three masked men, armed with a machete and baseball bats, smashed their way through the back door.

A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said his 13-year-old daughter was in the garden just after 4pm when the men broke into the woman's home.

"She saw them kicking the back door trying to get it open," he added.

"She saw them rush in, my missus got [our four children] all upstairs. She called the police, she couldn’t remember ringing them, but she did.
