Woman spotted in full bodysuit of PPE as queues force Primark to reopen early

A shopper donned a full bodysuit of personal protective equipment before heading out to Primark this morning as the store reopened for the first time since March.

The woman, dressed head-to-toe in a white suit similar to the sort of thing you usually only see from forensics officers in crime dramas, was also wearing blue disposable gloves and a face mask.

But she wasn't the only person going to extraordinary lengths to get her Primark fix - with people getting up hours early to be first in line.

Birmingham's main Primark store opened 35 minutes early this morning because the huge queue outside.

Talisha Haq, a first year catering student at University College
Birmingham, got up at 4.30am and walked from Handsworth, arriving at the store to start queueing from 6.45am.

Once inside, she spent £38 and was out of the store just after 8am,
ready to head back home.

Lucy Haynes and Mia Allen were two of the first people into the popular fashion store.

Both had travelled in from Shirley, West Midlands, for their big day out. Mia said: “We are just looking forward to going shopping again."

A total of 153 Primark stores reopen to the public today - with two metre social distancing and one-way queues in place.

Safety measures will include extra security staff, warning signs and revised hours as the chain slowly reopens for business.

However, in line with Government guidelines, staff and customers will not be required to wear PPE or face coverings inside stores.
