Woman spits at garda while 'waiting for Covid-19 test result' in Cabra, Co Dublin

A woman who spat at a garda and claimed she was waiting for a Covid-19 test has been arrested.

The incident happened at around 6.20pm on Tuesday on St Attracta Road in Cabra, Co Dublin.

The woman, who is in her 30s, approached a marked garda car and started banging on it and shouting.

When an officer stepped out of the car, the woman spat at them and claimed she was waiting for coronavirus test results.

She was arrested at the scene and detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

She has since been charged in connection with this incident and will appear at Dublin District Court at 10.30am.

A garda spokesman said: "The incident occurred when a woman approached a marked car and began banging on it and shouting.

"When a Garda member exited, the woman spat at the Garda member and advised she was awaiting test results for Coronavirus.

"The woman was arrested at the scene and detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station. She has since been charged in connection with this incident and will appear at Dublin District Court this morning Wednesday, April 15 at 10:30am."
