Woman sparks fierce debate after sharing shower habit she thinks is 'normal'

There's no right or wrong way to shower - or is there?

One woman has divided the internet after she revealed what she believes is a "normal" way to shower.

We're not talking about whether she prefers to wash in the morning or in the evening, but whether she faces the showerhead or has her back to it.

Taking to Twitter, Alice, who goes by the handle @Backpainandwine, asked her followers: "Help me settle a debate.

"It’s normal to shower with your back to the shower right? Not facing the water?"

Her question sparked a heated conversation between thousands of users, with many people saying how they shower depends on whether they're washing their hair or just their body.

One said: "Depends if washing hair or not. If yes, then back to shower when rinsing. Otherwise face shower," which subsequently baffled this person: "I didn’t know showering without washing your hair was even a thing."

Another said: "Surely everyone faces away or the water goes in your face?"

Meanwhile, a third person said: "Always back to the shower. Should never ever wash your face in there as most folk have the water too hot. I only ever spin round to rinse suds off the boobs."

"I can't do either," admitted a fourth. "I have to take the hose off and move over me I can't handle water just falling from above into me. I'm a freak."

Another commented: "I don't like my face in the water at all unless I've had a terrible day and you do that thing they do in films, where you put your hands on the wall and lean forward with your hair streaming down like you've just blown up an entire planet and need some time to think."

To which one person replied: "The only problem there is that there is often a psychopath watching you, waiting for a chance to strangle you with a stocking."

But a few people said they do both.

"Doesn't everyone change position in the shower to rinse the shower gel off both the front & back of their bodies? Or is that just me?" said one person.
