Woman sparks debate over how often people should shower - and no one can agree

Arguably for some, showering or bathing can consist of someone's everyday routine - along with getting dressed, possibly going to the gym, and prepping your meals for the day.

In a shocking turn of events, one of life's most common activities - showering - has sparked a huge debate online amongst viewers - who can't agree on how often people should shower.

Personally, I shower once a day - early in the morning preferably to kickstart the day - but with this scorching heat, I've lost count of the number of times I've showered in a desperate attempt to cleanse my sweaty skin.

A woman asked the simple question online - but little did she know how responses would differ.

And not have only users disagreed in response to the post - but their answers have ranged from one extreme to the other.

"How often do you shower/bathe?" The user asked. "Just that really."

Whilst the majority of several squeaky clean individuals out there are claiming that they wash twice a day - the responses are a completely mixed bag.

"Shower every morning and often have a bath in an evening to relax," one user penned.

A second agreed: "Recently twice a day"

However, there were some other users whose ideas were completely other ends of the spectrum - from washes per hour to once or twice a week.

"Two to three times a day," one user claimed.

Another added: "At the moment, once an hour."

"Once or twice a week," a user claimed.

"Twice a day," another penned. "Maybe three times if I do a workout in the middle of the day."

However, one user found a middle ground - as they claimed that they only wash for a second time in a day if it's deemed necessary.

"Shower every morning," they wrote. "Will shower again if I do something that gets me hot & sweaty and/or dirty."

Some may argue - the original user included - that washing more regularly will be more costly on your water bill amid the cost of living crisis.

Clearing up the situation, the original user penned: "Someone at work mentioned they only shower once a week - and said it so matter of factly as though any more than that is too much.

"He doesn't smell (that I notice).

"For myself, before Covid it used to be every day, sometimes twice a day.

"During lockdown I started going four to five days between showers."

"I think I was suffering from depression or at least struggling with my mental health back then but didn't realise," they added. "Once I started going back into the office, this increased to every other day.

"I'm now considering dropping a day so if I shower Monday, the next day being Thursday (unless very hot like currently) to save money on water and electric."

"I just wanted to see what most other people do, so thanks for that."
