Woman sparks debate as she brands washing hands in the kitchen sink 'disgusting'

A woman has sparked controversy online after openly admitting that she believes washing hands in the sink is 'disgusting' and 'unhygienic'.

Irish traveller and self-confessed cleaning freak Bridgey sparked a huge debate on popular video-streaming service TikTok after sharing her thoughts on the social media platform.

Bridgey - who boasts more than 295,000 followers on account @bridgey.barbara - was hit with thousands of comments after sharing her viral confession, which has surpassed more than 120,000 views to date.

She explained: "Did you know if I've watched someone wash their child or their baby in the kitchen sink I wouldn't drink a cup of tea off them or a cup of coffee?"

Bridgey went on: "They're washing out that cup in the same place they've just washed their child's a**crack.

"Why can't you just put them in the bath? Why don't you have a baby bath? I think that is the most unhygienic thing in the whole world.

"I'll probably get hate for saying this," she confessed.

Posting an additional video, Bridgey responded to a comment, which read, "And washing your hands in the kitchen sink."

The TikToker said: "That is also disgusting. No way you're washing your dusty hands in my sink - if you can't use the bathroom then you're going to have to go outside and look for a birdbath to wash your hands in because it won't be in my kitchen sink."

Since posting the clip online, the TikToker's videos have caused heated discussion.

Taking to the comment section, one person argued: "Most people do this it's not unhygienic."

A second agreed: "I'm never out of the kitchen. I know I'm not walking through two hallways and a set of stairs in between touching food. Just bleach it out after."

Meanwhile, someone else penned: "I'm not going up three flights of stairs to wash my hands every two minutes - just clean the sink after."

On the other hand, a different person agreed with Bridgey's claim as they penned: "Spot on."

"Washing clothes in the sink - noooo for me," a second TikTok user said.
