Woman sobs to police that no one will believe she's been raped because she's drunk

A drunk woman was raped by after she fell asleep on the night bus - by a man who threatened to kill her with a knife.

In distressing footage she weeps as she tells police no-one will believe her, because she had been drinking.

The police received a 999 call from a woman who could hear the attack taking place, followed by a second call from a bus driver after the victim got on board and reported the assault.

She tells a female officer: "I got raped in the park.

"And he said he was going to kill me.

"He grabbed me and pulled me down the lane and smacked my head on the floor.

"He said if you don't have sex with me I'm going to kill you, I've got a knife in my pocket.

"No one is going to believe me because I'm drunk."

Her case was shown as part of the BBC documentary Met: Policing London which aired last night.

It followed the Met's since disbanded Sapphire Unit which investigated sexual offences.

They tracked down CCTV from the bus and a nearby garage which showed the rapist walking to his home after the attack.

No gave no comment interviews but later pleaded guilty (BBC)

He was arrested within hours, his home raided, clothing confiscated and DNA evidence was found proving intercourse had taken place.

Despite a series of "no comment" interviews, Aaron Davies was charged with two counts of rape one of sexual assault.

He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 10 years and nine months in prison.
