Woman so obsessed with colour yellow everything she owns is in the cheerful shade

A teacher is so obsessed with the colour yellow that she has covered her life with the cheerful shade.

From furniture, pots and pans in the kitchen, bed and cushion covers, vases and cupboards, to her scooter and helmet, and even her mobile phone, Fitri Rahmawati has everything in yellow.

The 30-year-old teacher and mum-of-two young boys from West Java in Indonesia, has spent years building herself a 'yellow life.'

Her personal items such as pouches, bags, drinking bottles, hand sanitiser, tote bags, calendars, cell phone cases, stationery, are all yellow.

She said: “I really like yellow, every time I see something in yellow, I'm definitely interested and want to have it."

Fitri’s fixation with the colour yellow began as a child when she was fascinated by the bright cheerful colour that was also a symbol of a political party.

By the time she grew up and moved to a university, she had amassed all her stuff in yellow.

She said: “I started liking yellow colour when I was in elementary school.

“In high school, I didn't have many collections because I couldn't afford to buy them myself, but my closest friends knew enough that I liked yellow and always gave me yellow items as birthday gifts.

“When I had my own income, I started buying more yellow things and my love has continued to grow."

Fitri’s unique obsession further grew when she got married and moved in with her husband. She gradually started collecting yellow items for her dream house.

She said: “When I was married, I started buying yellow equipment. Starting from the wallpaper, sheets, carpets, curtains, and custom-made sofas.

“Then I bought stickers for the fridge, stove, dispenser so they all turn yellow. Decorative shelves, umbrella holders, umbrellas, scales, flower pots. All yellow.

“I am very happy that Apple released yellow iPhone products on the XR and iPhone 11 types. Now I use the yellow iPhone 11."

Despite her massive collection at home, Fitri’s obsession for yellow has not ended.

She added: “I buy a lot of my collection online, as not many shops stock yellow goods."

Although her whole life is painted with the bright colour, Fitri doesn’t wear many yellow clothes.

Fitri says she has become a popular name among her social circle for her fixation with yellow.

She added: “People around me such as friends, students, family and even acquaintances often say that when they see the yellow item, it immediately reminds them of me. They even send me pictures of cute yellow stuff.

“When people visit our house, they are quite surprised and will always compliment for my persistence in making my house yellow. I'm quite happy with their reactions."
