Woman snaps holiday photo oblivious she's holding one of world's most venomous animals

A tourist in Bali had a lucky escape about obliviously posing for a photo with one of the world's most dangerous sea creatures.

TikTok user @Kaylinmarie21 shared a video of her holding a small octopus whilst on holiday - a tiny sea animal no bigger than the palm of her hand.

The octopus was seen to have a brown body and dark circles as it crawled around in the video while other holidaymakers splashed it with water.

However, after posing with the creature, the group looked up the animal online only to find out that it was a blue-ringed octopus - recognised as one of the most deadliest animals in the ocean, packing enough venom to kill 26 humans.

Even more terrifyingly, it is reported that people may be completely unaware the octopus has bitten them until it's too late - with no anti-venom available to those who have been bitten.

Sharing the information she found online, it reads: "The blue-ringed octopus, despite its small size, carries enough venom to kill 26 adult humans within minutes.

"Their bites are tiny and often painless, with many victims not realising they have been envenomated until respiratory depression and paralysis begins. No blue-ringed octopus anti-venom is available."

The video was captioned: 'Going to Bali and unknowingly holding one of the most dangerous animals', adding: "Called my dad crying 3 hours later". Thankfully, she was unharmed.

The clip has been viewed more than 2.6 million times as people were left horrified over the frightening incident.
