Bank holidays mean different things to different people. For some, it's a day of rest, where you stay in bed as long as possible so you can catch up on some much-needed sleep. For others, it's a day to catch up on all the housework that's been building up over the past few weeks or months.
One woman was left furious after she was woken up on the bank holiday Monday by her neighbour who was mowing the lawn. While she thought it was unacceptable to be doing this so loudly in the mornings, others thought she was overreacting.
Taking to popular forum Mumsnet, the woman called her neighbour a "potential cheeky f***er", and asked fellow mums if his behaviour was "normal".

In a post from today (May 29), the anonymous woman explained: "He woke us at 8.24am [mowing] his lawn. Is that normal?
"[Am I being unreasonable] to think that's too early? We're three terraced houses so you can't escape some noise but 8.24am on a bank holiday!?
"He's been annoying since they moved in so I think I'm just annoyed at him."
In a second post, the woman further explained that the neighbour's dog constantly barks, he takes his bins out at midnight over a cobbled drive and has told them they will have to move their car when his partner gets a new one.
Fellow commenters didn't see the problem with her neighbour mowing his lawn and thought past 8am was a respectable time.
One person commented: "Wouldn't bother me. Nearly half 8 is not that early."
A second added: "After 8am is fine. Although I quite like the buzz of a lawnmower!!"
However, there were also those who had sympathy with the woman, with one person sharing: "My neighbour starts with the lawnmower about 7.30-8am every Saturday morning. She likes to get it done before they go out for the day.
"I think it bothers me more because she doesn't work and is home all week so has ample opportunity to do it some other time. I work long hours during the week and don't appreciate being woken early on a Saturday."
Another added: "Anything involving heavy machinery before 9am on a weekend or bank holiday is inconsiderate and selfish. No way is 8am a reasonable cut-off! There's absolutely no need to be mowing a lawn at that time."
