Woman shot to death after argument in Englewood

A woman was killed in a shooting Sunday in Englewood on the South Side.

A male suspect followed the 26-year-old woman to a vehicle after an argument and fired shots at her about 4:20 a.m. in the 7500 block of South Emerald Avenue, according to Chicago police.

The woman was hit in the chest and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the fatality.

No one is in custody as Area Two detectives investigate.
