Woman shot inside Austin home

A woman was wounded in a shooting Monday in Austin on the West Side.

She was inside of a home about 9:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Adams Street when four suspects approached the back of the home and pulled out firearms, Chicago police said.

The gunmen fired shots through the back door, striking the 49-year-old in the arm, police said. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

Area North detectives are investigating.
