A woman was injured in a shooting Sunday in the Heart of Chicago on the South Side.

The 25-year-old was riding in a vehicle with two other people at 3:48 a.m. when someone started shooting from a silver four-door sedan in the 2200 block of South Blue Island Avenue, according to Chicago police. Someone in a second passing vehicle may also have fired shots.

The woman was hit in the leg and taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition, police said. Investigators said she may not have been the intended target.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives.
