Woman shot in head, gravely wounded in East Garfield Park

A woman was gravely wounded after she was shot in her head Tuesday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.

Few details were released about the shooting that police said happened shortly before noon in the 700 block of North Drake Avenue.

The 21-year-old woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in grave condition, according to Chicago fire spokesman Larry Merritt.
