Woman shot in Englewood

The 25-year-old was shot in the leg July 13.

A 25-year-old woman was wounded Saturday after she was shot in the leg in Englewood on the South Side.

She told investigators she was on the sidewalk with friends about 2:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of West 69th Place when someone approached from the gangway and opened fire, Chicago police said.

The woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, police said. Police didn’t have a description of who shot her.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
