
A woman was shot during an attempted robbery Monday in Roseland on the Far South Side.
At 5:19 a.m., the 18-year-old and another female were walking east on 103rd Street from State Street when a gunman walked up and demanded their belongings, according to Chicago police.
He fired one shot, striking the woman in the left buttock, before running south on State Street, police said. He did not get anything in the robbery.
The woman was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where her condition was stabilized, according to police.
The shooter was described as a 200-pound male standing about 5-foot-5, police said. He was last seen wearing black boots, a black hoodie and black pants.
No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
