Woman shares unfortunate fashion fail as her leather trousers fall apart on date

Figuring out what to wear before a first date can be tricky, with throwing together an effortlessly stylish outfit becoming an absolute minefield when you're also trying to make a lasting impression on the other person.

For many women, a decent pair of leather pants can be a great option for winter dates, being a flattering and timelessly fashionable wardrobe staple.

However, for one businesswoman, her pants ended up letting her down in a pretty hilarious - albeit mortifying - way.

Taking to TikTok, Julie Griggs - co-founder of the Fourplay double dating app - revealed that she'd thought her leather pants looked "great" while out on a date. However, little did she expect that they'd suddenly begin shedding on her at an alarming rate.

In the vid - shared under the username @try_fourplay - Julie can be seen showing the damage done to her once trendy trousers, now practically falling apart, much to the amusement of her followers.

One person joked: "I thought we all learned from Ross not to wear leather pants on a date."

While another recalled, "I had a duffel bag like this and it disintegrated mid-travel- shed all over the airport and plane, so embarrassing".

A third person declared that they were "immediately removing every pair of leather pants from every cart I have", to which Julie replied, "better safe than sorry. Let’s make sure this never happens to any woman ever again".

As a small business owner herself, Julie declined to say where she originally purchased the trousers from.

However, In a follow-up vid, she clarified that the pants in question "are at least five years old and had a great run before I wore them to death", adding that it's " not the brand’s fault, I just need to expand my winter wardrobe".

In terms of the date himself - who "shockingly" didn't even notice the clothing mishap - Julie remarked that he might "still deserve jail time because after I ended it he said it was a shame because he would have invested in my business".
