A woman has shared her “surreal” experience after a swan wandered into a holiday village apartment where she was staying.

Dulice Carney posted on Twitter how she and her six-year-old niece were startled by a swan that had set itself up in front of the television as they relaxed in their lounge room.

In a tweet posted on Saturday that has since received 57,000 likes, Ms Carney wrote: “Come to center parcs for a much needed recharge. With my eyes closed relaxing my 6 year old niece said quietly "Aunty I need your help" I asked "what with"? "The swan" she replied. I laughed & asked "what swan" opened my eyes.....(sic)”

Alongside, she posted a photo of a swan that appeared to be watching the television in front of her.

The tweet received hundreds of comments, with some asking how she was able to get the swan back outside.

Ms Carney replied: “I risk assessed my arms versus its wings lol and chose to get a duvet but it didn't hiss or anything followed me into the bedroom and followed me out. Most surreal! Wont be trying it at the local park. (sic)”
