Woman shares sneaky trick that lets you hang up phone on someone without seeming rude

For some, taking a phone call is no big deal, but for others, it can be a rather anxiety-inducing experience - especially if it's from an unknown number.

There will also be times when you may not want to answer the phone, even if it's a call from your mum or best pal.

However, it can feel rude to ignore the ringing and you might feel pressured to answer. Ending the call abruptly or hanging up can seem wrong, so you'll just find yourself stuck on the phone call, waiting for it to end.

If you've ever wished there was a quick and polite way to get out of this situation one woman has you covered.

Social media personality, Woah Vicky, previously shared a clever trick for hanging up on someone without upsetting them - and it's doing the rounds once more.

Appearing on the YouTube series, Unfiltered with Zane and Heath, Vicky explained how she gets out of phone calls and she was quickly branded a "genius" after the clip went viral.

She can be seen getting a phone call during the interview and admits she doesn't know who's calling, but reluctantly answers.

"Oh wassup," she tells the person on the other end of the line.

She starts to say something else, but while she's talking she switches her phone to airplane mode.

"I do this to people when I wanna hang up," she confesses, turning her phone to show the screen.

Vicky goes on to explain that by turning on airplane mode, the call is disconnected and a message is sent to the other person saying "call failed" instead of "call ended".

So it looks as if Vicky was cut off, not like she hung up on them.

"That is genius," proclaimed one of the guys.

Vicky nods, adding: "I always do that. It will say reconnecting."

But the sneaky part is that it won't reconnect.

More than 11 million people have since watched the clip, with it garnering over two million likpes on the @unfiltered account.

Many stitched the video with their shocked reactions, with one by @chrisbach1986maccers getting a lot of attention.

Thousands of people also took the time to comment on the clip, with one saying: "Ok but she's teaching me things."

Another wrote: "She's actually a secret genius."

A third added: "Smartest thing I've ever seen."
