Woman shares pictures of horrific injuries after 'machete attack'

A Bristol woman has shared pictures of horrific injuries which she says were sustained when she was attacked by someone with a machete.

Bonnie Gane says she suffered injuries to both her face and hand during a horrific attack on Sunday (October 20).

Police say they are investigating the incident which took place between 1am and 2am in Cadbury Heath.

Two men were arrested the same day of the attack before being released under investigation, Mirror Online reports.

One photo appears to show a slash wound across the victim's face while another shows blood pouring from her hand.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "We are investigating an allegation of assault in which a woman suffered serious facial injuries and an injury to her hand.

"The incident happened between 1am and 2am on October 20 in Cadbury Heath.

"Two men were arrested later that day and have subsequently been released under investigation.

"All parties involved have been offered support from the police and all parties have been advised to show restraint in relation to social media for risk of prejudice to possible future legal action.

"Police enquiries into the incident are continuing. Anyone with any information should contact us quoting the following reference 5219242605.

"Any concerns for personal safety should be raised immediately on the emergency number 999."
