Woman shares online shopping hack that could mean big savings every purchase with just one click

Shopping fanatics have praised a woman after she revealed a smart way to save money whilst shopping online.

We all know the dreaded moment of getting to the checkout and realising how much damage you’ve done to your bank account and not wanting to part with an item you love that could go out of stock at any minute.

However, with this tip, you could be saving money every time you shop online without having to wait for a major sale.

Taking to Twitter, the woman said: “Buying in £s and paying with revolut. Many UK stores like River island, M&S etc have a massive euro markup.

She then gave an example of a blazer that cost £70 on the UK website and €94 on the Irish one, when it should only have been €84.

People couldn’t believe that the hack was so simple and could save them so much.

One woman commented: “Interesting! Does the website not cop that you’re buying from ireland or do you shop within the app?”

To which the shopping expert replied: “I think the only iffy one I’ve come across is Next (another markup culprit). The tip works on both Apps and websites. I shop from the River Island and ASOS apps regularly through pounds and just put in my Irish address and it will calculate the usual shipping cost.”

She added: “Have a peruse on a website and see how far you get to before paying if unsure.

“I tend to double check I’m definitely making a saving but I’ve done this for years and I reckon I’ve saved hundreds avoiding markups and also bank charges if I was to buy in £ on my normal card”.

She then gave another example of an M&S markup which showed the same coat for sale on the UK site for £99 and €140 on the Irish site when it should be just €119.
