Woman shares little-known ice cube tray hack to fill it without spilling any water

In the extreme heat the UK is currently facing, we're all desperately looking for ways to cool down.

If you're unlucky enough to be working today, maybe a dip in the paddling pool just isn't feasible, however, there are other ways to stop yourself from overheating in the heatwave.

It's no secret that ice is an amazing way to stay cool - in frozen ice packs, freezing a hot water bottle, and of course, just simply putting ice in drinks can make them a whole lot colder.

But if you're using an ice cube tray to make your own ice, did you know you might be doing it all wrong?

A TikTok user named @speedystuff posted a video detailing the 'correct' way to be filling your ice cube tray to avoid spilling water all over the place.

So you've been wasting your time trying to fill up each individual tray according to her.

Rather than trying to move the tray around under the tap to fill up each section, you should be aiming for the central circle part of the tray.

This will ensure no spillages and that the sections fill up equally and evenly.

Users were flabbergasted at the hack, taking to the comments section to admit they'd been wasting their time for so long.

Someone commented: "What on earth!", followed by a crying with laughter emoji. "Such a good life hack, I didn't realise this before!"

@speedystuff responded to this comment by saying: "I know, my mind was blown."

Another user wrote: "What! You can learn all that here in the wonderful world of TikTok!"

"Thank you", one simply wrote, because we do love a hot weather hack.
