Woman shares how to craft 7p Christmas tree baubles that look like they 'cost a fortune'

It's the time of year when people are debating whether to put up their Christmas trees. However, on top of the ever-increasing costs of energy bills, some may be fearful that they can't afford additional costs this festive season - from gifts to Christmas decorations.

Sharing how to craft giant baubles that look like they're been plucked straight out of Harrods, a woman has been praised for her inexpensive and "genius" 7p method to make decorations first-hand that give other people the impression that they "cost a fortune". Shanny Alderwick took to popular video-streaming service TikTok to demonstrate her craftsmanship.

In the video, which has surpassed 420,000 views since posting, Shanny demonstrated how she uses balloons to give the effect of giant ornaments.

Captioning the post, she wrote: "Metallic balloon hack."

The TikToker shocked viewers as she shared her hack, which she claims has people telling her, "I bet all of your giant baubles cost you a fortune".

Shanny's tree was made up of a stunning silver and navy display, which she complimented with metallic balloons that she simply blew up to size and placed throughout her other ornaments.

Following the success of her viral clip, she took to the social media platform to speak through the demonstration first-hand.

In the follow-up clip, she asked: "Don't want to spend loads of money on giant baubles?

"Buy metallic balloons from Amazon and blow them to the size you want and place them in your tree, thank me later."

On Amazon, 100 metallic balloons are available to purchase for just £6.99, leaving a singular balloon from the pack retailing at less than 7p each.

Flocking to discuss how the future of their Christmas decorations has been forever changed, TikTokers hailed Shanny's tutorial for being "game-changing".

"Genius," one person gushed.

A second exclaimed: "This is brilliant!!"

A different user penned: "This has blown my mind."

"Game changer!" Another wrote.

Meanwhile, someone else shared a suggestion: "You should spray some hairspray on them to make them shiny!"
