Woman shares horrifying story of attempted 'needle spiking' as boycotts of clubs organised in UK

A woman has described the terrifying moment she was almost spiked by a needle while in a club in Leeds on a night out.

Sharing her story on Instagram, the woman warned others to 'keep an eye out for each other' as she admitted the incident left her 'shook up'.

She said: “On Friday night (15/10/21) I went to beaverworks, leeds with my friends to celebrate my birthday but the night was cut short as someone potentially tried to spike me via injection.

“Fortunately for me it appears they missed and scratched my arm and the liquid ran down my arm instead, I felt okay so we notified security and went straight home where I was shook up but fine.

“On Monday I then contacted my GP and was sent to A&E to get my arm checked out and they did a blood test and I’m now having to complete a course of Hepatitis B jabs and another blood test in 8 weeks.

“If you think you’ve possibly been injected tell your friends and security straight away and even if you feel fine make sure you head to A&E to get tested – it’s better to be safe than sorry.

“I’d read about it on Facebook but never imagined it would actually happen.

“It’s horrific that it’s got to this point, keep an eye out for each other and notify security if you see anything suspicious!!”

The woman also noted that whatever liquid slid down her arm was strong enough to lift the fake tan she had been wearing off.

Following several incidents of injected spiking in the UK, a boycott of nightclubs throughout Britain has been organised to show nightclub owners the impact women not attending their venues will have.

People have begun to share the dates on social media, asking people to stay in on the designated nights.

One tweet read: “these are the girls night in dates for pretty much every city in the uk, please stay in and don’t attend clubs shows then just how much they reply on girls being there and shows them that we won’t go again without change”.
