Woman shares hack that allows you to unlock your iPhone with your face mask

Unlocking your iPhone using Face ID when you have your face mask on can be a frustrating task.

As soon as the phone lights up and the camera realises you have your mask on, you're asked to insert your passcode which slows down the entire process.

But now a woman has a hack that may work for you.

TikTok user Sam, known as @wavyy.bvby, revealed how she got around the annoying problem.

In a video that has been viewed more than 7.5 million times, Sam explains that you need to go to Face ID and password in your Apple settings.

Then, click on the button that says 'Set Up an Alternative Appearance'.

It will then take you to a screen that explains how to set up Face ID.

"First position your face in the camera frame. Then move your head in a circle to show all angles of your face," it says.

Do this with your face mask off at first, then, put your mask on and complete the process.

However, the camera recognises that Sam's face is obstructed as it urges her to remove anything that may be covering it.

But after a moment or two, the first Face ID scan is complete.

Repeat the same steps for the second scan and according to Sam, you're good to go!

Since being posted, the video has been liked by more than 1.4 million likes and 13,000 comments.

One person said: "Thanks for sharing. I work in healthcare and it's a pain typing in my passcode with a mask on."

Another viewer commented: "You must have seen me struggling sis thank you."

"I can't do that cuz I be using different masks n losing em," said a third.

Someone else asked: "Waitttt does it work if you're wearing a different mask?"

But a few people tried it for themselves and said they couldn't get it to work, as one person put: "I tried this with my iPhone 12 and it keeps telling me that my face is obscured and to remove whatever is in front of my face."
