Woman shares genius way of taking Christmas decorations out of attic without breakages

As Christmas is fast approaching, many people have begun to take the dreaded trip to the attic to try and find their Christmas decorations.

Lifting huge boxes of baubles, lights, and garlands can be a struggle for some, especially if you live by yourself and have no one to help with the job.

However, one woman has taken to Twitter to share her genius way of taking your Christmas baubles down from the attic on your own without having any breakages.

She said: "My timely reminder for those living alone and trying to get their Christmas decorations down from the loft….bring up an old duvet cover with you. Load baubles etc carefully inside duvet, lower slowly to floor. Stay alive!"

People were quick to praise the idea, with some even saying they always use the hack.

They said: "I think of you every time I use the duvet cover trick.....it has been a game changer.... thank you".

Others were delighted at the tweet as they felt it gave them the go ahead to put up their decorations.

One person said: "So does this mean it's ok to decorate now or are you providing advice on preparation?? Everything seems so much earlier this year but I'm kinda ok with that!"

People also shared how they store their own Christmas decorations, with some putting their boxes on wheels to move them easily.

They said: "We finally put the decorations in boxes with wheels and put them in the garage".

Another said: "I decided to find a space in the shed for my decorations. Now i just have to brave the rain instead of the attic".

One man took his organisational skills to a whole new level with his idea of storing decorations by maximising space in your attic.

Hanging the bags from the wooden beams in the attic, the man created an easy and organised way to spore his Christmas decorations.

He said: "You may think it's too early to put up Christmas decorations but it's not too early to get them down from the attic, do an assessment on what you have and what you need, double-check the spreadsheet, maybe do a practice run on the actual putting-up process".
