One savvy woman has shared a helpful gift wrapping tip for Christmas time which has social media users raving about the simple move.
We've all been there - you're in the middle of wrapping up a present and discover halfway through that you haven't cut enough paper to cover the whole thing.
But instead of having to cut more paper from the roll and risk the gift looking like a badly-wrapped mess, there's a quick fix that TikToker @twelvedogs12 covered in a short video that's racked up over 48,000 likes on the social media site.
The woman explained that it can be annoying having to slice off another sheet of wrapping paper to cover up the part that you missed - and instead suggested a simple move you can do with the present.
In the video, she explains: "Here's what to do when you cut your wrapping paper too short."
She showed a clip of a Christmas gift ready to be wrapped, but when she brought the edges of the paper up to the middle, there was a large gap revealing the present in the middle.
The woman continued: "Instead of cutting an extra piece to fill the empty space, all you have to do is turn your gift on an angle, pull the sides [of the paper] towards the middle, and continue wrapping like you normally would."
Sure enough, after tilting the box clockwise slightly, the wrapping paper was able to cover up the whole thing.
The woman added: "I learned this on TikTok and it's such a great hack!"
Although it works best on gifts that come in boxes with four different corners, people in the comments have said they "love" using this method and encouraged others to do the same.
One person said: "Everyone saying it's common sense but I've been wasting wrapping paper in the past my whole life."
Another added: "I wish I saw this video last week" alongside a crying emoji, while a third commented: "S-M-A-R-T SMART!!!!! Big brain!! I have always had problems with this."
"This is how I wrap my gifts normally", another said, with another penning: "OMG genius."
