A woman's video has gone viral after she revealed how to "correctly" drain pasta on TikTok - and viewers were impressed.
A video shared on the viral platform by mum-of-four Shannon Doherty has racked up more than 1.3million views where she complained she had been "doing it wrong" her entire life.
She begins by lifting up a pan filled with cooked pasta and lifting it over the sink to tip out the water before shaking her head.
Instead, she drops the sieve inside the pot and then tips it up so the water escapes while the pasta remains in the pot.
In the video, a voiceover says: "Show me the life hack that you randomly saw one day that is now an unconscious standard practice in your life."
The video caption states "How was I doing this wrong my whole life? This was one of those LIFE HACKS that I use every day."
The clip has gained thousands of comments since it was shared on TikTok and racked up more than 160,000 likes.
One viewer gushed: "I think you just changed my life...."
Another added: "I also recently saw this and couldn't believe I was doing it wrong my entire life."
A third replied: "My life has just been changed."
A fourth said: "Oh dear god...freaking brilliant. How did I not think of this before???"
But other viewers are argued that this wouldn't work for everyone - as you would need to have a sieve that fit your saucepan.
One gutted commenter complained: "My strainer is 30 times larger than my pot."
Another said: "It's the squished pasta for me."
A third moaned: "That's so much harder than just dumping it in there," while another asked: "But what is the benefit? Both are still dirty and the pasta is probably really watery. I really want to know."
