A woman has caused a stir online after revealing a simple question that 'will make you see people differently'.
Posting to TikTok, Erica Mallet shared the query to put to friends and colleagues but warned you're perception of them might be forever changed - even if you've known them for 'ten, fifteen years'.
As reported by the Mirror, the question is as follows: "If I say we have a meeting at midday, and then I say can we move it forward two hours, what time is that?"
On the surface, it seems fairly straightforward, but it turns out people are firmly divided into two camps over the answer: 10am and 2pm.
Erica, who goes by the username @erica_mallett, asserted: "You don't truly know someone until you've asked them this question. You could have known them for ten, fifteen years, and you feel like you know them inside out, but the answer to this question will change everything you think you knew about them".
Judging by the comments, it's clear Erica isn't far wrong, with followers from both sides of the divide astounded that there could ever be another way of thinking.
One 2pm person wrote: "Move something forward = move it forward in the scheme of the day = 2pm".
However, a 10am person strongly disagreed, arguing: "10am. Forward/back is what you do to the time in relation to you. Forward = closer/earlier. Back = further/later."
In an insightful follow-up video, Erica cleared things up by explaining that your answer will completely depend on "how you view time".
She said: "If you see yourself as moving through time, then you will say 2pm. But if you see time as moving through you, you will say 10am".
