Woman shares 'clever' trick to travel without paying for accommodation or meals

Travelling is one of life's greatest joys, as I'm sure we will all agree.

Whether it is exploring new places or immersing yourself in different cultures, seeing more of the world is a beautiful experience.

But it is not the cheapest, and many of us end up stuck at home more often than we would like due to financial restrictions.

Luckily, an adventure lover has shared her "best travel hack" which she uses to " travel for free."

But be warned, it might not be as blissful as everyone thinks.

TikTok user @ travelswithels went viral after she shared how she affords to travel far and wide.

Her secret is simple: she uses app Worldpackers.

In her video, Elie explains the app displays experiences "all over the world", where travellers can work in exchange for accommodation.

She says: "How it works is you can volunteer some of your time a day, and they give you free food and free accommodation in return.

"On the app it tells you how many hours a week you need to work and what exactly you need to do.

"Then it tells you what you get in return."

Elie concluded the video by sharing an experience she had arranged through the app.

"Tomorrow, I'm going to a Worldpackers experience in Guatemala, where I'm going to be living on a yacht, and I'm so excited," she said.

In the comments she added: "The app is free to download, it’s $40 for a year membership to do as many experiences as you like."

While some people were quick to point out you normally have to pay for your travel expenses, lots of viewers were nonetheless overjoyed by the recommendation.

One person commented: "Wow." Another added: "This is so clever."

And several viewers said they can't wait to try it out for themselves.
