She took to a hyperlocal neighbourhood site to share her tips.
The post read: "I had the best night's sleep I have had in years last night and it was so easy.
"I don't know why I haven't tried this sooner. I switched my mobile phone off at 7pm, drank some warm milk before brushing my teeth and read a book in bed.
"I feel so refreshed today. I know people say your phone makes you sleep less deeply but there really must be something to it. I cannot recommend this enough! Just thought I would share."
One person was quick to comment.
He said: "I’ve been sleeping really badly just lately; I’m going to give it a go!!"
The NHS says that most adults need between six and nine hours of sleep every night and recommends a regular bedroom routine for people struggling with insomnia.
A post on the NHS website reads: "Your routine depends on what works for you, but the most important thing is working out a routine and sticking to it.
"First of all, keep regular sleeping hours. This programmes the brain and internal body clock to get used to a set routine.
"By working out what time you need to wake up, you can set a regular bedtime schedule.
"It is also important to try and wake up at the same time every day. While it may seem like a good idea to try to catch up on sleep after a bad night, doing so on a regular basis can also disrupt your sleep routine."
Winding down before bed by taking a warm bath, writing 'to do' lists for the next day and relaxation exercises, such a light yoga stretches, are also recommended.
