Woman shares brilliant hack for taking your Christmas tree down in seconds

Well, the festivities are well and truly over for another year, and many people will now be nursing a New Year's Day hangover and contemplating how on Earth they're ever going to muster up the energy to take down the festivities down before heading back to work.

If that's you, then in actual fact we've got a little bit of good news for you, as one woman has shared an ingenious hack for putting down your tree in a matter of seconds - and it'll make putting it back up December a breeze too.

Amy Foster, who posts from the handle @thick_fil_amy on TikTok, has revealed how she perfectly preserves her completely decorated tree all year round, meaning she never has to bother taking down the decorations at all.

Taking to the app, Amy explained how she uses a plastic mattress cover to cover her entire tree - still wrapped in tinsel, fairy lights and baubles, before simply placing the whole tree in her loft and it only cost her less than £3.

All you need is a mattress bag (thick_fil_amy/TikTok)

However, this isn't the first hack of its kind to be shared. Two years ago, mum Renae Krivitz shared her own Christmas tree storage hack on Facebook, which involved wrapping the tree in cling film before placing it into storage.

"My new time-saving Christmas invention," she wrote. "No more decorating/undecorating. Wrap it and store it!"

Think of all that extra time which could be spent drinking mulled wine!!

Of course, it goes without saying that both hacks are only useful if you have the luxury of having somewhere big enough to store the tree all year, but if you do, this could save a lot of time and arguing.
